Novat has over eight years of experience in tax and transfer pricing, with his experience covering a diverse range of clients in both taxation and transfer pricing. The clients he has served include both private and listed companies and are involved in different industries and sectors including agriculture, financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and service sectors within Tanzania.
Novat has extensive experience in transfer pricing matters including planning and implementation, formulating policies and cost allocation strategies/ methodologies, compliance and documentation, benchmarking, transfer pricing advisory, dispute resolution, Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs) and training (internal and external).
Prior to joining Coretax Africa, he was a transfer pricing specialist at PwC, with engagements also covering the East African region and some falling further afield giving him a diverse viewpoint on international tax. Novat was a part of the Transfer Pricing team at PwC, from being a part of the initial core tax team prior to the development of a stand-alone transfer pricing business unit within the PwC firm in Tanzania. He has been an active member of the team, helping it to grow substantially into serving a large number of multinationals. He actively advanced thought leadership and trainings within the team, publishing articles on transfer pricing and facilitating transfer pricing training for clients and other professionals.
His work experience is backed by a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business Administration (majoring in Finance and Management) from the United States International University – Africa and a Master of Arts degree in International Development from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK.
